“Which had the more successful career depends on what the criteria is.”

No it doesn’t.
Success in football is pretty clear cut.

Again you’re trying desperately to squirm out of a ridiculous statement.
Ancelotti was a regular in one of the best modern day teams in Europe. Player for his country and won everything. Noble? Well he took a lot of penalties.

And your comment about money just proves how stupid you’re making yourself look.

What you are saying Will Biden is.....

Top Gun = Ancelotti

Goose (Top Gun's loser mate according to Will Biden) = Noble

Both flew at the highest level.......

Re: The Return of Noble
Ha ha ha. Goose was Top Gun’s mate that was constantly 2nd best and ended up dead! AKA a loser!

I didn’t compare Noble to players that won lots and that’s what you keep lying about. My point was that Noble played at top level. That’s all. You keep trying to make out I’m the mug but you are really the muppet.

As for the careers of Noble and Ancelotti they were vastly different eras of 30 years. Which had the more successful career depends on what the criteria is.

Noble played more games per season, scored a lot more goals and did so at top level. Ok Noble won next to nothing but that’s WHU for you. I’ll bet Noble has earned more money than Ancelotti as a player as well…

goose 6:52 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
you made a fool of yourself the moment you tried comparing Noble to players who have won everything.

and then you doubled down on your spazzyness by saying Noble had a better career than someone who has played for his country and won everything there is to win.

and it appears you've never watched the film - or more likely you did and you just forgot it.
happens at your age i guess.

I’m not the one squirming goose. Neither am I deflecting from making a fool of myself for lying and taking a loser’s monika

Re: The Return of Noble
they were all direct quotes Will-Biden. you can squirm all you like.

bit like the direct quotes from you about rape.

the 'top level' is winning things and playing for your country. that's pretty obvious.

Willtell 6:10 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
Saying that a group of players all played at the top level is factually correct with the emphasis on the top level leagues.

Saying a group of players played at the same level puts the emphasis on them having the same skill level when they played.

Some players have better skill levels and win more than others but they can all play at the same league level!

Therefore you changing what I said to mean a group of players were the same level was you lying about what I said!

Why do you lie and why did you name yourself after a loser goose?

Re: The Return of Noble
""Yes they all played at the top level goose but so did Mark Noble."

that's you saying they all played at the same level.
winning leagues & european cups is a different level to just playing in the PL.
i'd have thought that was pretty obvious to anyone.

but then you do say stupid shit like this:

"Noble probably had a better career than Ancelotti"

Re: The Return of Noble
Prior to Channel 4 showing live games of the Italian league I don't remember much being mentioned about any other European leagues or it's players, except for mentions during World Cup Finals and European Cup finals......Ancelotti was prior to Channels 4's ground breaking idea wasn't he?

Graziani was the first Italian player I remember as a kid getting adulation from our media because we were playing Italy in a friendly and it was televised.

Willtell 4:38 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
Let me simplify it for the resident dunce that is goose.

Players that play in série A or EPL all play at the highest level.

That doesn’t mean they are all the same because some are better and some not so good.

When you accuse me of stupidity on the basis that I said they were all the same level you lied. I never said they were all the same level. Just that they all played at the top level. It’s so simple that only a moron would have trouble with it.

Why did you name yourself after Top Gun’s loser mate?

Re: The Return of Noble
goose - I'm happy to stand corrected, but by memory I don't recall that much fanfare about him when he was playing, but appreciate he was one of them players who 'quietly' went about his craft.

Takashi Miike 3:36 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
he's still using total caps as a guarantee of ability?

goose 3:32 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
not the type of player to have a big rep, but you don't play 95% of games for 'that' Milan team without being top class.

from wiki:

Style of play
A world-class player, Ancelotti was a creative, cautious, and efficient midfielder who was known for his leadership, skill, composure on the ball, and organisational ability; he is regarded as one of the best Italian midfielders of his generation.[13][14][15]

Manuel 3:20 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
Fwiw, I don't ever recall Ancelotti having a big rep as a player, was never world class, was certainly better than Noble though.

goose 2:48 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
so to summarise you base "being a top player" on how many international caps someone got.

Because both Ancelotti and Conte won everything there is to win in club football.
A top level player will have won stuff and played for his country.

You're putting them in the same bracket as Noble who has never won a trophy, never really played european football and never played for his country.

and to take you back to your original point that 'top level' players dont make good managers i've shown you how 5 of the best managers currently around were all 'top level' players prior to management.

keep digging yourself deeper Will-Biden.

Re: The Return of Noble

Shut up you idiot! Noble played most of his career at the top level and so did Ancelotti.

Here's what I actually said and to pick an argument over true facts shows how idiotic you can be - "Yes they all played at the top level goose but so did Mark Noble.

OK Pep and Zidane were top class possibly Mancini too but even then Zidane played at Real Madrid and only ever managed Real Madrid after years of learning management in various roles at Real Madrid. Funny how Real Madrid wanted to keep him involved at their club.

Ancelotti had only 26 caps for Italy so wasn't really a top top player; Conte had only 20 caps too. I think most people recognise what I said is true but the exception proves the rule. There's no way Michael Owen, David Beckham, Alan Shearer, Roy Keane etc would be managers but Hoddle, Adams, Campbell etc gave it a go."

Nagel 12:36 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
Noble might not have played quite at the same level as Ancelotti, but he's certainly played at a higher level than most Chelsea managers since they became a "big" club. Higher than Potter, Tuchel, Sarri, Hiddink, Mourinho, Benitez, Villas-Boas, Scolari, Grant and Ranieri.

goose 11:01 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble

"Yes they all played at the top level goose but so did Mark Noble."

you're clearly saying he played at the same level as them.

anyway this is even funnier:

"Noble probably had a better career than Ancelotti"

hahaha you idiot. Ancelotti won the league 3 times and the european cup twice.

he played less games because they played less games back then you div. Seria A was 30 games a season and the euorpean cup didnt have group stages.

keep embarrassing yourself old man - it's hilarious to watch.

Willtell 10:50 Thu Sep 29
Re: The Return of Noble
goose
Stop twisting what was said. Mark Noble played at the top level and so did Ancelotti in Italy. That doesn't mean "Ancelotti, Pep, Conte, Mancini all played at the top level with Mark Noble" which is how you're twisting it you idiot.

Noble probably had a better career than Ancelotti but for the lack of full international caps as it happens. Noble played PL level for 16 seasons which was 414 games and scored 54 goals.

Ancelotti may be revered today as a manager but his playing record shows that he played 283 games with 22 goals over 13 seasons where he wasn't always first choice starter.
